SEASON 39
2024-2025
Remembering… Reflecting… Reinvigorating the Spirituals
About the Season
South Dallas Concert Choir continues to blaze the trail to keep the American spiritual and music by African American composers at the musical forefront of all our programming. This is the penultimate year before we celebrate our 40th Season and we are anticipating a wonderful year filled with music from our past and new music by living composers.

Remembering… Reflecting… Reinvorating the Spirituals is this season’s theme as the choir remains steadfast to its commitment to singing traditional spirituals with greater intention. This season is dedicated to one of our founding members Douglas Moore who we lost suddenly last year. In addition to honoring his legacy, we will pay homage to other founding members and directors while performing music by living African American composers throughout the season. This linkage of traditional music alongside contemporary music is sure to energize our concerts and help us gloriously celebrate our past.
